SecureEdit 1.4Mb (Freeware) New version 1.2 available 7/2005 SecureEdit was born of a long-standing need to store my password file, source code and work documents in a secure password-protected format. While allowing ease-of-use, portability, quick loading, no requirement for program installation, registry access or support file installation. This program is a simple, no nonsense 'Rich Text File' and text word processing program (much like Wordpad/Write/MS Word) with one very important and unique feature. The user can Open/Edit/Save their documents securely. Proprietary multi-layer, and type, encryption using a password allows privacy and security for work documents, password files, source code storage or what ever your particular need. SecureEdit has one very important unique feature that I believe is widely (if not desperately) needed. You can save RTF or text files (14 file types) normally, or 'securely' using password protected, proprietary encryption. I have needed a no fuss, small utility
providing document security for over ten years, and could never imagine why MS Word
etc... didn't provide this option. Well here is a freeware program that may help
others with similar need. |
